Gathering. Giving. Gratitude.
As we approach the season of intentional gathering, giving, and gratitude let’s talk about the true meaning of it all. Football is at its peak with gatherings and tailgates every weekend. Kitchens are being stocked for Thanksgiving dinners. Black Friday marketing is flooding all media platforms. Children are writing their lists of desired Christmas gifts. Parents are prepping their bank accounts and certainly checking them twice. The season is evident with the lingering chill and melting pot of barbecue, hot chocolate, coffee shops, and more in the air.
In our gathering let us be fully present with our company and mindful of the way we spend our time together. We obviously are excited to gather more intimately due to the changes in 2020 so don’t take the precious moments for granted. Intentionally give our loved ones the benefit of listening with care. Play with the kids for longer than the commercial break. Express gratitude regularly and not just because Thank You is appropriate for the moment. Greet our coworkers, colleagues, strangers, friends, and significant others with the same smile and energy, because of who you are, not because of how you perceive him or her. Give gifts that are meaningful to the receiver, regardless of price, size, or quantity. Give God thanks for every opportunity to gather, the presence of loved ones, the food prepared, and the breathe in our own bodies. Embody a spirit of gratitude in the presence of others without conflict or negativity. Allow yourself time to relax, reflect, and renew your energy.
Gather with love, joy, fun, and appreciation. Give from your heart. Be Grateful & Show Gratitude for all that has passed, all that Is, and all that is to come. Enjoy this season and carry the same spirit year-round.
